Having recently directly compared it to an 1886 Riviere and Hawkes (asking price £19,500.00) and a c.1890 Jerome Thibouville-Lamy (asking price £14,000.00), I can confirm that it holds its own sound- wise magnificently - they really didn't sound twice as good! Consequently, I think it is well worth the asking price despite not having a designer-label - what you hear is what you get!
